Emily Hausman is a candidate for Female Democratic District Leader of the 81st Assembly District where she lives, works and raises her family. Emily is an early childhood administrator, helping to create spaces in which our youngest community members can thrive, and lower hurdles to families in the workplace. When COVID hit, she was called upon to run a Department of Education in-person emergency school starting in March of 2020, reinventing the school at the Riverdale Y to serve the needs of our front-line workers’ children during the early days of the pandemic. Emily started volunteering for Democratic candidates to ensure that the voices of educators were heard throughout local government. Emily is honored to serve on Bronx Community Board 8, work at a local school, SAR Academy and support her husband, Captain Joseph Robinson’s New York National Guard Unit as a chaplain here in New York City. She cannot imagine a better place than the Bronx to raise her four kids, Ruthie, Liam, Benny and Shalom.
