Strengthening the State Democratic Party: Although District Leaders do not have formal responsibilities in the State Democratic Party, the Ben Franklin endorsed candidates for the position  believe that District Leaders can play an important role in strengthening the State Democratic Party by organizing to aid candidates and campaigns in areas across the state that the Democratic Party has a legitimate chance of retaking following recent losses, particularly in swing districts upstate and on Long Island. We also believe that it is important for District Leaders to listen to what the community has to say about the State Democratic Party and how it operates, and to that end we would of course consider and, if appropriate, advocate for proposals voiced by our constituents.

Local Priorities: Over the course of our campaign, we have had the great fortune of speaking to residents in every corner of Assembly District 81, including Riverdale, Kingsbridge, Kingsbridge Heights, Marble Hill, Norwood, Van Cortlandt Village, Woodlawn, and Wakefield. Although our district is amazingly diverse, our residents have consistently voiced the quality of life in our district as their top-of-mind issue. We have all seen it: the trash in our parks; the potholes in our roads; and the crime in the streets and on the subway. Our district is a wonderful place to live in but keeping it that way is hard work requiring investment by the community and by city and state government. The job of an Assembly District Leader is to work with their Assemblyperson and other elected officials to give voice to these community concerns and to ensure these issues are swiftly addressed by government services whenever possible. We believe that our excellent relationship with Assemblyman Jeffrey Dinowitz, City Council Member Eric Dinowitz, Bronx Borough President Vanessa Gibson, Congressman Ritchie Torres, Congressman Adriano Espaillat, and other elected officials will allow us to serve as effective liaisons between the community and our elected leaders on these issues and to get results for our Assembly District.
