The Bronx Celebrates Juneteenth

The Bronx will be home to lots of fun events to celebrate Juneteenth.  Check these out to find something for you and your family.


Van Cortlandt Park  (Broadway and Van Cortlandt Park S, Bronx, NY)

Monday, June 19, 6 p.m.-7:30 p.m.

The Van Cortlandt Park Alliance and the Bronx Arts Ensemble are hosting a free event to celebrate Juneteenth. The event will begin on the deck of the Van Cortlandt Gold House with music and spoken word performances. Then there will be a drum procession to the Enslaved African Burial Ground at which there will be a libation ceremony in memory of the enslaved African people who built Van Cortlandt Park. Juneteenth Family Day. Free activities include face painting, yoga, zumba, live performances, poetry, and more. Learn more.

Juneteenth Walk/Run/Barbecue.  5k walk/run through Highbridge, Jackie Robinson, Saint. Nicholas, and Morningside Parks from The Heights to Harlem. Learn more.

Monday, June 19, 12 p.m.-5 p.m. 

Juneteenth Day of Love. The group No Voice Unheard is organizing guest speakers and families to come together to commemorate youth lost to gun, gang, and street violence. Learn more.
