We Condemn Synagogue Attacks

Northwest Bronx Indivisible stands with the Riverdale Jewish community in the face of this weekend’s vicious attacks on several neighborhood synagogues. The callous acts of vandalism directed at places of Jewish worship underscore the continuing threat of anti-Semitism in our community and at large, and the urgency of individual vigilance and collective action against all forms of hate, discrimination, and violence based on faith, skin color, and heritage.  Hatred and violence – whether directed at a Jewish worshiper, an Asian American or Pacific Islander, a Black or Brown person, or an immigrant seeking a better life in our country – are all faces of the same plague on our communities and our national fabric.

  • We call on the NYPD to continue to work tirelessly to bring the individual who committed these anti-Semitic acts to justice.
  • We stand ready to work with community and advocacy partners to combat hate in all of its forms.
  • We urge swift passage of the COVID 19 Hate Crime Bill and Jabara-Heyer No Hate Act to provide new federal tools to track and combat hate-based acts.
